What you pay with Computicket and TKKT

These are the published self-service fees. Read TKKT vs Computicket if you also need retail collection or stadium tooling.

What 4.5% costs on your ticket price

Worked from the 4.5% self-service commission, which excludes VAT. VAT at 15% takes it to 5.175%. A VAT-registered organiser may be able to claim that VAT back.

R4.50 commission per ticket, or R5.18 with VAT.

R200 ticket

R9.00 commission per ticket, or R10.35 with VAT.

R500 ticket

R22.50 commission per ticket, or R25.88 with VAT.

120 tickets at R200

R1,080 commission on R24,000 of sales, or R1,242 with VAT. Paid out the Friday of the week after the event.

The same night on TKKT

R0 TKKT platform fee. Your Yoco, PayFast, or Paystack card rate still applies, and the money goes to your own account on that provider's payout schedule.

What Computicket publishes for self-service organisers

On 30 August 2026, the Computicket BoxOffice organiser agreement published a 4.5% commission, inclusive of bank charges and exclusive of VAT, on ticket sales made via the self-service system. Refunds carry a R10 administration fee plus a 2.5% bank charge, on top of that commission. Source: https://admin.computicket-boxoffice.com/organiser-agreement

The same agreement says settlement is by EFT on the Friday of the week following the event, after Computicket deducts its fees. That is their self-service BoxOffice wording. A Shoprite retail or stadium-scale deal is a different contract. Do not treat 4.5% as the fee for every Computicket event.

What you still pay on TKKT

Your Yoco, PayFast, or Paystack card-processing rate. That is the provider's fee, not a TKKT booking fee.

How to compare your own night

    Take your ticket price and expected sales

    Example: 120 tickets at R200 is R24,000 face value.

    Read the Computicket agreement you are actually offered

    Self-service BoxOffice currently publishes 4.5% ex VAT. A retail or tour deal can quote something else.

    Add settlement timing if cash flow matters

    BoxOffice currently pays the Friday after the event. TKKT never holds the money.

    On TKKT the platform line is R0

    Card processing still applies through your gateway. There is no second TKKT booking fee on top.

When Computicket is still the better pick

If you need Shoprite or Checkers collection, a national tour footprint, or a brand attendees already trust for stadium shows, Computicket's retail network can be worth their commission. TKKT does not offer in-store collection.

TKKT is newer (2026) and is built for independent organisers who already bring the crowd. That is a real tradeoff, not a footnote.
