Sell tickets through your own Yoco account.

TKKT creates the event listing, checkout hand-off, QR tickets, and organiser reporting. Yoco processes the card payment for your own Yoco account.

A verified TKKT event paid through Yoco

Beyond the Dust used Yoco for its paid checkout and processed R27,500 in ticket revenue plus R5,100 in optional top-ups through the organiser's own payment account. TKKT charged R0 in platform fees. The listing and tickets sat on TKKT; the card payments were processed through the organiser's Yoco account.

Connect Yoco to TKKT

    Create or open your Yoco account

    Complete Yoco's own business verification and account requirements. TKKT cannot approve or accelerate that process.

    Add your exact TKKT checkout domain

    In Yoco, go to Connect, Checkout API, How to connect, Live keys, Verified Domains, Add domain. Copy the organiser-specific checkout host shown in TKKT Payments. Never add plain tkkt.co.za.

  3. 03

    Wait for Yoco to approve it

    Yoco emails you when the domain is verified. Until then Yoco declines card payments, so do not save a live key yet. There is no step to ask TKKT for: checkout routing through your domain switches on by itself when you save the key.

    Paste the live secret key securely

    Once the domain is approved, copy the Live Secret Key beginning with sk_live_, not the Live Public Key beginning with pk_live_. Paste it only in TKKT Payments, never chat, email or WhatsApp.

    Confirm paid sales are enabled

    TKKT probes the credential. A valid live key enables paid checkout; a test or rejected key leaves paid sales disabled.

What happens when someone buys

Buyer checks out

The buyer selects tickets on your TKKT event page and completes the Yoco-hosted payment step.

Payment is verified

TKKT verifies the completed checkout before issuing the booking reference and QR ticket.

Your dashboard updates

The booking appears in your TKKT organiser reporting while the payment remains in your Yoco account flow.

  • The event is public and shows the correct ticket price
  • Yoco displays a live key, not a test key
  • TKKT payment settings show Yoco as live-ready, not test-only
  • A low-value test purchase completes and delivers a ticket
  • Your refund policy and organiser contact details are clear

Questions organisers ask

Why can I only see a Yoco test key?

Yoco may still be waiting for domain verification. In TKKT Payments, copy your exact organiser checkout domain and add it under Connect, Checkout API, How to connect, Live keys, Verified Domains, Add domain. Never add plain tkkt.co.za. Once Yoco approves it, securely save the Live Secret Key beginning with sk_live_ in TKKT Payments and card checkout switches on by itself.

Does TKKT receive my Yoco funds?

No. The payment is processed through the organiser's connected Yoco account.

Can I publish before Yoco is ready?

Yes. Free events work without a gateway. A paid event can be published, but buyers cannot complete paid checkout until a live gateway is connected.

Where do I issue a refund?

Refund the payment through your provider account, then contact TKKT to mark the matching ticket refunded so its QR code is rejected. TKKT does not hold the funds.

Has TKKT processed a real paid event through an organiser gateway?

Yes. Beyond the Dust issued 110 tickets and processed R27,500 through the organiser's own account, with R0 TKKT platform fees.
