Use your Paystack account for event payments.

TKKT supplies the event page, booking flow, ticket issue, reporting, and scanner. Paystack processes the payment through your own connected account.

A Paystack test key can be saved for testing, but TKKT requires a valid live key before real paid ticket sales are enabled.

Connect Paystack to TKKT

  1. 01

    Complete the Paystack account

    Finish Paystack's own business activation requirements before expecting a live key to process real cards.

  2. 02

    Copy the secret key

    Find the key in Paystack under Settings and API Keys. Use the live secret key for public paid sales.

  3. 03

    Save it in TKKT Payments

    Choose Paystack in the organiser payment settings and submit the secret key through the secure credential form, not the AI chat.

  4. 04

    Add the webhook URL

    Configure https://tkkt.co.za/api/paystack_webhook.php in Paystack so successful charges are confirmed server to server.

  5. 05

    Complete a real-flow test

    Check that the event price, checkout, confirmation, email ticket, and dashboard all agree before launch.

What TKKT verifies

Return plus webhook

TKKT can verify the Paystack reference when the buyer returns, while the signed webhook provides a backup if that browser flow is interrupted.

Incoming Paystack notifications are checked against the expected signature.

Expected amount

The amount reported by the provider is checked against the booking session before finalisation.

Questions organisers ask

Can I use a Paystack test key?

You can use it for testing, but real ticket sales remain disabled until a valid live key is connected.

Does Paystack need domain verification like Yoco?

TKKT does not currently instruct organisers to complete the same Yoco-style domain step for Paystack. Paystack still applies its own account activation requirements.

Who receives the money?

The transaction is processed through the organiser's Paystack account. TKKT does not hold the ticket funds.

How do I refund a buyer?

Refund the money through Paystack, then contact TKKT to mark the matching ticket refunded so its QR code becomes invalid.
